Spring Break!!!! (For me at least)

Hey everyone, Wizard here with a brief but always enjoyable blog update.

First off, as the title reads it is Spring Break! Well for me at least and I am going out of town to Colorado Springs, Colorado for a little bit of fun and what not with my friends. So what that means to y’all is that Da Wiz wont be online Brawling with you for 5 Days.

I will be staying in a hotel so I may be able to get online and at least see whats up, but dont count on it. This also means that I wont attend the Release Party Zom is throwing =(…im upset with that cause I bet we’ll get a new highest active member count and I wont be apart of it. Oh well.

Anyways, yeah now that I got that out of the way….on the Blog.

Brawl came out recently and it…is….EPIC!!!

However….the Wifi SUX!!! I have given up SO many matches due to the lag. Oh and SSE is a lot of fun if not a little repetitive. Anyways, thats all im gonna say about Brawl.

SSC Events coming up are:

The Brawl Release Party on the 15th, make sure to bring your own dipYayyer’s Long awaited Announcement is to be revealed on the 16th. I’ll miss that too…=(

The Staff Meeting on the 14th. Which I will also be missing but dont worry, Nagoshi will be there (hopefully). I think its goin to cover the Official SSC Tournaments, who knows?

Other Stuff to cover will fast:

Today is sonic/yoshi man’s birthday. Happy 15th Birthday!!!!

I leave today and Nagoshi (my Rep)  will take over all DaWizard23 related items. So PM him for anything you want. I give you permission lol.

Last but certainly not least is……

1st Annual X Tag Team Tournament!!!!

He plans on this being one of the biggest SSC group tourneys. I believe him.
The tourney will start on April 4th so make sure to have all your characters unlocked and trained. I personally will be entering wthl my Deadly partner DemomGaara007……oh yes…be scared…so be prepared to take on some strong players. Best of luck to everyone!

ITS GO TIME!!!!!!!

HEY GUYS!!!! WIZARD HERE!!!!! Long time no blog right?

For all you new members out there my name is DaWizard23 and I am a Council Man on SSC (It rhymes XP).

I want to first announce what this blog will talk about. I want it to become more active so im going to actually talk about its for. It has a few points to it. Its not just sumthing for me to complain in. All of what I talk about in here is SSC/Brawl related.

* This Blog is a secondary source of information. If your not clear on the latest info or announcements from SSC then check this out and hopefully I’ll have it broken down for you.

* When Tournaments start, the winners will be announced on the blog, along with upcoming matches and Tourneys, both Official and Unofficial. Which brings up my next point.

* If you are setting up an Unofficial Tournament and want it to be advertised feel free to hit me up with a PM and tell me what you want me to say about it.

* A thing i like update is SSC statistics. I will probably only do it once a month. In fact, im doing it in the blog today. So read to see what i mean.

* Another thing that this blog will entail is information and updates from the SSC Website. Yes we have a website but it is not up and running yet but when it is, I’ll try and post some of the features and lastest additions to it.

Well thats what im aiming this blog to become. So if you have any complaints about it once again, feel free to PM me about anything you like/dislike about what I blog. I am usually the only CM who updates this. However, on occasion you may get another CM posting on here.

Moving on to what im blogging about today!!! Yay!!!

First up, I’ll give you a break down of SSC Statistics. I love doing SSC Statistics cause it really shows how much were growing.

We officially Opened on November 24, 2007.
As of today, March 7, 2008: SSC has been running for 3 months and 12 days!!! Which is VERY awesome.

Our current member count is 366 Members!!! With the newest one being Sabre!!!

We have a total of 11 Groups!

Some of the newer groups are:

Dons of Smashing led by Nocternal General

The Valiant Brawlers led by Maram123

Legion of Wii led by Longhorn

So with more and more groups being made Tournaments are gonna be a blast!
Thats about it for site statistics.

Moving on to The Latest….

Alright all you Brawlers out there. Heres The Latest Info you need to know (Another Rhyme XP).

Brawl has a midnight release tomorrow night. I am prediciting that Saturday is ALSO the day when Gamestops will set up there Brawl Demos for the public to play. The demo will consist of all the starting characters and will be two minute matches. I am unclear on the stages. So if you wont be able to make it to the Midnight release, try to at least stop by a Gamestop and check the Demo.

Another thing Gamestop is doing is the Release Tournament. Tomorrow night around 9:00 pm Central time, Gamestops will have the actual game set up and will start the first of s series of tournaments with big prizes for the winners. So if your entering good luck. If you havent already heres the link for the information buts its probably too late to sign up since its tomorrow.

For all you non-midnight releasers (you poor souls) you’ll have to wait til Sunday to pick up your copy of Brawl. Have fun in line!!!

Moving on to SSC News

I do believe the SSC Board upgration (yes i just made it up) is still under way so hopefully some time soon we’ll get a brand new board off of the….ZETA BOARD!!!

Zom is kindly throwing a SSC Brawl release party on March 15th. Its a BYOG (Bring Your Own Game) Party. So come, have some fun, exchange Brawl codes and Brawl it up!

Speaking of Brawl codes, SSC now has New and Improved Profiles (my idea i think) that will allow you to post your Old SSB/SSBM mains, along with your Brawl Mains. Your friend code and Brawl code and much more. Its pretty Epic.

As for SSC Extras

We recently lost the CM member GoopyInferno. He was SSC’s 17th member and winner of the very first Header contest. He said he had to resign because his life was extremely hectic and he’ll be busy all summer. We’ll all miss him I am sure.
However, to take his place on the Volturi is somewhat of a newer member (though well known of course). His name is ImpaKing666, or as most of us know him as, Gin. He was the leader of the Shining Fist Group but since they broke apart he needed a group so he got promoted. Congrats to you Gin! Welcome to the Volturi.

Our leader Board has been created so when Official Tournaments begin you will get to see the top ranked groups on SSC.

Also, Cammy_D, our Admin, is starting to Advertise SSC and is taking Donations aswell. If you have any ideas as to where to advertise us on (Video Game related sites only please) or would like to Donate actual money to benefit SSC, Hes the one you need to PM. Thank You all in Advance.

Ok well a WHOLE lot has happened since the last blog entree. First off, SSC officially has 250 MEMBERS!!!! Our 250th member is………aguila562!!!! Congratulations!!!!

In exactly TWO days, Janurary 31, 2008, Super Smash Brothers Brawl will be released in Japan. Unless they somehow give them a delay but I SERIOUSLY doubt it. And if they did, I would be one majorly pissed Japanese person.

Hhhmm, other news…….I dont really know. The SSC Board will be upgraded in the near future. Yay for us, Thanks for Zom. Oh and I dont know for sure but I think Cammy will be coming back to the SSC pretty soon. Thats great too.

Didn’t See That Coming

Alright, I’ll admit I was also one of the people to think that stickers were just for collecting. The powers-ups is a very creative idea and the way you put them on the trophy is an even better one. I just thought the stickers deemed an update. Oh and Sheik, my best char from Melee, is in!!! Thats all I guess. Im tired.

Janurary 15th Update:

Along with the Pikmin stage (Told You)…….Sakurai announced that the American Brawl release date will be pushed back until MARCH 9TH………mean while the Japanese release is pushed back only a week.

Add another month to the Count Down Zom….Im thoroughly upset now.

Wizard here with some news you can use.

The Updates have started again and we may be back on a good update streak. A new character announcement, Captain Olimar (HUGE SURPRISE TO ME); His special moves (not very surprising), Pikmin World music (I really liked the music and does this mean a stage?); Snakes Final Smash, oh and quite the disapoint for me but an intresting way to unlock things was announced, The Challenge mode.

Anyways, moving on. We now are at the 10 Day mark until Brawl is released in Japan…..those lucky Asians….Oh well, as I said before, when its released hopefully we wont be starved for info and teased at the Dojo. I believe updates will continue on all sites until Brawl is released world wide. That way even if you couldnt get the game at the release (you poor soul) you will still have information on the game. However I could be wrong aswell. Who knows? Sakurai has baffled (I like that word) us all before.

The Board is doing OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! Now with over 200 members!!! 203 at the moment, our latest member is Juni0r, woot for him/her.

We have many groups now. Five I believe. Heres the Break Down.

Heavy Impact with Shuriken as the Leader
Knights of Hyrule with Lord Vaati as the Leader
The Hidden with Nagoshi as the Leader
The Volturi with the Admin/CouncilMan Leading

With EIGHT MORE groups in the making. This is gonna be one sick tournament site.

Also if you a little intresting tidbit (I like that word too) of information is he latest issue (Feburary of 2008) of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) has Brawl info. Nothing new so dont freak out but it has a little article about Pro Smash Players and Competitive Play. Its on page 69 (no laughing) in the red rectangular box labeled “Brawling For A Living”. The Player named “KillaOR” describes the Smash side of MLG (Major League Gaming). Fun to read if your intrested in Pro Play some day (lol it rhymed).

Couple of Things

Well hey everyone, Wizard here.

A lot has happened int he past couple of days since the last blog update. So I would like to address the important things first.

#1 We now have our New Represenatives for our SSC Board. They aide the CM’s in many things as well as mod the site. I shall post them along with their CM Partner.

#2 Also, other good news is the fact that new members are flooding in. For those of you who read the last entree we had 100 members. And that was only 3 days ago. As of now, Janurary 7, 2008, we have a grand total of 131 Members!!! 31 new members in only 3 Days!!! That is awesome!!!! Thanks a lot to any and everybody who has been advertising their butts off about us. Its been working.

#3 Since we have more members that was all we needed to boost up our Group Numbers. Currently we now have a total of 4 Groups including the CM’s group. With more in the making. Their names and Leaders are:

The Volturi: Lead by the CMs and the Admins.
The Hidden: Lead by Nagoshi
Heavy Impact: Lead by Shuriken
The Knights of Hyrule: Lead by Lord Vaati

We have more future groups recruiting members so if you dont have a group I STRONGLY Peer Pressure you to either join a group or start one.

#4 Last and least….the Smash Update….woot? More stages from Melee. I was disapointed but hey a bunch of our favorite stages are back. Alright that about sums up my updates. Oh wait, and according to our calendar on the Board, Cammy should be officially moved in by today. So now both Admins should attend to the SSC more regularly. Thats Great.

Getting Ever Closer….

Hey everyone, Wizard here.

With only 24 Days left until the Japan release of Brawl and 39 for the US, things are gonna start getting exciting. With luck we will learn much with the Japanese release because we all know we cant rely on the Smash Site for exciting information anymore.

Sadly, the Euro date STILL hasnt been release but there have been rumors that a late Feburary or early March release is expected so…..*crosses fingers*.

I hope everyone had a great New Years Day and wont freak out too much with all the anticipation this month.

With A New Year Comes A New Resolve.

Hello everyone, Melvin here.

First off I want to wish you all a happy New Year! With this new year comes a new resolve for me, hence the title. Before I begin to elaborate I want to request something from all of the users of the SSC. We all know that Brawl is just a few months away and to be honest I don’t think that we are nearly active enough for all that we would like to accomplish. So my request is two-fold,

1. Please, please, please spread the spread the word about us in any way possible. Even if it will only bring 2-3 more members, that right there will help!

2. If you could post more on the boards it would be great! Sadly there is only a group of about 20 members that post on a regular schedule, I know that most of you are busy, but, just a post stating your opinion on a couple topics would be wonderful.

Now my resolve is to get this board so active that it will break the site even more than Yayyer ever has. I know I’m not alone in wanting and doing this, but the more help that the CM’s and I get the better.

So anyways, another happy new year and I hope that you guys will help out in making this entire system work.
